About me

I offer counselling support to individuals in a safe and confidential space where you can explore whatever you may have brought you to seek sessions at the time. It could be a major trauma in your life, or struggling with a personality issues or just feeling unhappy and distressed with life in general.

I have worked within the counselling field for 20 years and have experience of working with those experiencing suicidal thoughts, those within the confines of the prison service, those who have been bereaved and youth within FE setting.

As a counsellor I offer an empathic non-judgement environment for you to come and talk about what anxieties you may be experiencing in your life.

The initial appointment gives you the opportunity to meet me, to talk about what has prompted you to seek counselling and to decide if counselling is for you. It is the time when you will be able to ask any questions you may have about the service I am offering.

I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists(BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework of Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been trained as an Integrative counsellor and work essentially in a person centred approach.

In accordance with ethical and legal requirements for professional practice I have regular clinical supervision for my clinical work and maintain my professional standards by participating in 30 hours Continued Professional Development annually.

I work with individuals both long term and short term

I hold PPI insurance to work with my client base.

Please feel free to contact me by telephone or email. I would be happy to talk to you about any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
