Counselling helps people understand themselves better, alleviate distress and help develop options for the future. I provide counselling in a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment. Working together we will explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns and together find ways of moving forward to a different future
'Jeff really helped me understand my anxiety and develop ways of feeling better ' (S. from Esher)
'Don't be afraid to talk to Jeff, he has a way of making you feel listened too and that he wants to help' (L. Cobham)
My philosophy is one of compassion, hope, optimism and that everyone has the capacity to grow and change. Relational Counselling can help people understand themselves better. Counselling can help alleviate distress and create a different future I believe the counselling relationship I offer is non-judgmental, warm, supportive, truthful and authentic. I will work with you in a sensitive and respectful way which hopefully helps you. My aim is to help you negotiate life's challenges, watersheds, losses, crisis and turning-points that may mean working to resolve unfinished business, or address an immediate and identifiable issue.
'Jeff helped me me feel safe and that he was really interested in me and my problems' (M.from Cobham)
I practice in central Esher with easy links and parking
I also practice in Fetcham surrey with plenty of parking
Both feel safe and quite and offer a great place to meet and talk
'There is no doubt Jeff helps he has fantastic integrity and great insights and challenges without being critical' (T,from Farnham)
Most people, at some stage or another in life, feel confused, anxious, depressed, isolated, stressed, or unable to cope.
You may find yourself stuck in negative patterns of behavior not knowing how to break free and move
You may know there's something wrong and would like to make a change but are unsure of where to start?
You may have undertaken counselling before and prefer to look for a different counselor or approach this time?
I believe It is often useful to get someone's perspective on things who is objective, understanding and who will not judge you, someone who isn't a family member or close friend. To take the time and space to explore your feelings, to try to make sense of them in a way that you may not have done before
As an integrative therapist. I work using a range of tools and techniques that aim to help you identify the specific issues that are troubling you and I encourage you to tap into their own inner strength and resources. I am warm, supportive, insightful, and have great integrity for the therapeutic work with you. I believe that working together we can really change. My greatest skill as a counselor is my ability to show sensitivity and compassion to people, providing a safe place to explore together difficult issues.
'I was really nervous about talking to a stranger but Jeff really made me feel safe and comfortable and that he was really interested in me' (K. from Cobham)
