I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor based in Cosham Portsmouth,with fourteen years' experience as a counsellor, working both privately and within the NHS.
It is my firm belief that the most important part of counselling is the therapeutic relationship between the client and the counsellor therefore I offer a free initial counselling assessment session. To achieve such a therapeutic relationship it is essential that when you are looking for a counsellor you feel safe and comfortable and this first session will give you an opportunity to meet with me, ask any questions you may have about counselling generally, and decide whether the service I offer will help support you in moving forward. Following this initial consultation if you wish to continue with me then we can work together to help assess where you are, formulate specific and realistic goals, and facilitate a process to enable you to achieve these goals and to assist you in finding a fulfilling way forward.

My initial training was in person centred counselling however for a number of years I have been working in a short term, solution focussed model to identify and manage the changes my clients wish to make in their lives. Although I work in many areas of counselling I have a particular interest in and experience in the following areas:
