Profile

I have been a counsellor for several years and I am aware of how important it is to choose the right counsellor. I provide counselling in a supportive, confidential, safe therapeutic environment based in the city center or in the area of Sherwood/Basford. Some of your issues and difficulties might include bereavement and loss, anxiety and stress, dealing with anger, work related difficulties, past and present abuse including sexual, emotional and physical. In fact any issues which might be having an impact on your day to day living, self-esteem, self-worth and confidence I will endeavour to work with. I will seek to help you to come to terms with negative feelings, to encourage you to freely express your personal issues, to help you to develop personal skills to have the power and freedom to change, to improve your self-esteem, self-worth and confidence.

I am an experienced, qualified, person-centred/humanistic counsellor providing a counselling service for adults with a wide range of emotional, relational and psychological difficulties.

What is Person-Centred /Humanistic Counselling?
Person-Centred/Humanistic Counselling encourages you to be open and freely express your personal emotions and feelings to help you to come to terms with negative feelings about yourself. It can help you to develop personal skills to have the power and freedom to change and improve your self-esteem.

I offer both shorter and longer term counselling with no fee charged for the initial assessment; day or evening appointments are available either in the City or Sherwood/Basford area.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have several years counselling experience, I initially attained my first professional counselling qualification at the Nottingham Counselling Service, before going on to becoming a fully qualified Person-Centred/Humanistic Counsellor my qualifications include:-

Certificate of Higher Education in Professional Counselling practice - Awarded by the University of Birmingham and attained at Nottingham Counselling Service.

Diploma in Humanistic Counselling Practice - The University of Nottingham.

BA (Hons) First Class In Humanistic Counselling Practice - The University of Nottingham.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
