About me

Sometimes life becomes overwhelming and we find it difficult to cope. We cannot change others or what happens around us but we can certainly change how others or our difficult situations impact upon us.

I work with both adults and children on a range of difficult issues using an approach tailored to each individual. I use mainly Person-Centred, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

My expertise is in :

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Work-related issues
  • Domestic violence,
  • Couples with relational difficulties
  • Affairs and Betrayal
  • Family issues
  • Adolescent/young people
  • Addiction issues
  • Families of addicts,
  • Anger-management
  • Body image issues
  • Low self-concept
  • Cross cultural issues
  • Cultural identity issues

I have five years of counselling experience and have worked with young people and adolescents on a range of problems including:

  • Attachment issues
  • Parental separation/divorce
  • School pressures (bullying, abuse, peer pressures, emotional problems, and alienation)
  • Adolescents experiencing identity
  • Intimacy, isolation issues.

I believe that for therapy to be effective, you must be able to connect with your therapist. An initial free telephone consultation should put your mind at rest. As a therapist, I can help to identify the reasons behind difficulties in coping, and help you to resolve these difficulties and find better ways of coping. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their Code of Ethics.
