Jasper Goodall PGDip MBACP
Hi, my name is Jasper, I am a Psychosynthesis trained counsellor based in Brighton, UK.
Life can be a struggle and I guess some level of suffering is unavoidable. The question is how do we relate to it? All too often we have some kind of negative story about who we are that only serves to compound our suffering: I deserve it, I’m no good, it’s all my fault, or maybe we blame others and never take any action to change. I can help you to see your story, where it might have originated and together we can test it’s validity and maybe begin to change it.
I tend to be quite an active counsellor, I will listen deeply but also offer interpretations and observations, ask questions, make connections and sometimes challenge limiting self beliefs. I will share theory, philosophy and my own insight where appropriate.
We can explore your issues in varied ways: We may focus on talking or if you'd like, I offer the opportunity to work with art materials, and images to help awareness and insight. I am an experienced meditator and can help facilitate you in bringing compassionate attention to your body and feelings.
If you feel I might be someone who could help you please get in touch. We can arrange a mutually convenient time to meet. In the first session we will discuss what brings you to seek counselling, your background and expectations. If we both feel comfortable we can book a further six sessions, after which we can review how its going and if you would like to continue in a more open ended way.
