Jan Carroll Psychodynamic Psychotherapist Registered with The BPC
The Psychotherapy Practice (Tuesdays)
2 University Road
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, having worked closely with people for over 10 years.
Perhaps you have found your way here because you are feeling troubled but you are unable to think or work things through on your own. I understand that it is never easy to ask for help of this kind but you do not have to be alone in all this. I can provide a professional and safe environment in which you can speak openly and confidentially about whatever is on your mind.
My theoretical framework is psychodynamic, this allows me to draw upon psychoanalytic principles and ideas to inform my clinical practice. It also means I am trained to listen to you in a way that can help you recognise the source of your present difficulties which may be rooted in the past. My training and experience allows me to work competently in open-ended psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I practice according to The British Psychoanalytic Council's Code of Ethics.
I undertake regular supervision in order to continue to develop and monitor my work.
How does it work?
Once you have made contact, we would make a time to meet and our first session would last for an hour. This will give you the opportunity to tell me about yourself and what has brought you to seek help, to get a sense of how we might work together and for us to think about if what I am offering is right for you. This is also a time for you to ask any questions you might have.
Once we have agreed a regular time to meet this will be the day and time for your session each week. Each session will last 50 minutes.
I work weekdays and some early evenings.
Where will this take place?
I have a consulting room in Langley.
I am also available on Tuesdays at The Psychotherapy Practice in Southampton (SO17).
