My professional status
My Accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) assures that, over many years, I have met strict and in depth criteria and continue, through annual
re accreditation to do so. I maintain these standards through continuing professional and personal development training and regular clinical supervision. Through accreditation with my professional body (BACP), I am accountable for the work I do with clients and I also work in accordance with its Ethical Framework and am subject to its Professional Conduct Procedure.
My initial training to Diploma level was over four years and encompassed many different models and theoretical approaches to counselling. During this training period I explored the more common issues which might be brought to counselling. I have followed up this initial and extensive training by further on going training which has recently included: Domestic Abuse, Suicide and Self Harm and Creative Therapies. My training is continuous and carefully structured to meet my professional development plans which are in line with BACP re-accreditation requirements
