About me
My name is Janette and I am a UKCP registered/accredited integrative psychotherapist and BACP accredited psychotherapist working with individuals from a base in Malvern, and also online. I aim to provide a therapy that is tailored to your individual needs and to create a safe and trusting environment for you to feel able to talk through and explore your difficulties. I have experience of working with INDIVIDUALS, COUPLES, YOUNG PEOPLE and CHILDREN aged 10 years and above.
As an integrative practitioner I support people with all kinds of concerns and issues, including bereavement and loss, anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, dissociation, personality disorders, low self-esteem, anger, relationship issues and life changes, and can work on a short term and longer term basis.
I particularly welcome the opportunity to provide therapy, in addition to individuals, to young people and trainee counsellors.
As a qualified clinical supervisor I also offer attractive rates for individual and group supervision. I welcome newly qualified and more experienced counsellors.
I offer flexible appointment times and work mainly during the evenings and Saturday mornings.
I currently undertake work for the NHS as a psychotherapist and in the past I held a post as a Quality and Professional Practice Manager within a counselling agency for CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE and ADULTS, where I held safeguarding responsibilities. I have experience of assisting individuals who present with a wide range of issues. I work with people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, and have worked in several counselling organisations, including MIND and Cruse, as well as within an organisation which specialised in CBT, and The Bridge Counselling Service in Worcester. I have experience of counselling students in FE and at University.
I also specialise in working with/counselling trainee counsellors/psychotherapists and can offer support for those working towards BACP Accreditation and/or assisting qualified counsellors with the Accreditation process.
As an experienced and qualified lecturer and counselling trainer,
I offer occasional workshop sessions as CPD for trainees and qualified counsellors, and can also offer training sessions in specific counselling subjects to organisations.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
