We work at your pace in a confidential and safe environment, without any pressure to discuss sensitive or painful issues which make you feel uncomfortable. Client safety and confidentiality are of utmost priority. I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation which provides an opportunity to ask any questions which may be worrying you about the counselling process or my practice.
Sometimes when we feel low or confused it can be difficult to understand what's going on with our life. My role as a qualified counsellor is to gently facilitate the process of helping you to find your own way to make positive changes in a kind and non-judgemental way.
We can explore your current difficulties from a different perspective, aiming to improve the quality of your life ... if and when you are ready to do so. I believe with professional support, everybody has the ability to gain inner strength and lead a happier more fulfilling life. Change is possible.
Prior to counselling, I have worked in various fields including sales and marketing, pharmaceuticals, director of a public house and running a market stall. However, the common denominator has always been my interest in human beings and different cultures.
My professional and rich life experiences have given me insight to many of the stressful and often complex dynamics of modern family life and combining the pressures work. I have a long term interest how the effects of addiction can have a negative impact on relationships and families. I am interested to continue my work supporting clients who suffer with low-self esteem, self-harm, anxiety, post traumatic stress, depression and adjusting to long-term illness.
I have worked at a counselling charity for 6 years supporting clients with a variety of issues, relationships, divorce and separation, abortion, bereavement, domestic violence and self-harm.
I am currently a volunteer counsellor at a rape and sexual abuse charity working with men and women who have experienced sexual and emotional abuse. I have a small private practice based at my home in Winchester.
I work in accordance with the ethical framework of the British association of counsellors and psychotherapists and receive regular clinical supervision.
