Throughout our lifetime we face changes in the way we live. Sometimes these changes are coping with issues associated with bereavement, relationship difficulties, redundancy, and addictions.

Adapting to retirement, marriage or a long-term illness or disabilities can often cause deep feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, isolation, and unhappiness. Our role may change and we find ourselves taking care of our partner or parents.

When we feel anxious, low or confused it is often difficult to understand what's going on with our life. Sometimes these feelings are like a thick, heavy fog which does not clear.

My role is to gently facilitate the process of supporting you to find your own way to make positive changes in a kind and non-judgemental way.

We work at your pace in a confidential and safe environment, without any pressure to discuss anything which may be sensitive or painful. Client safety and confidentiality are of utmost priority.

We gently explore your current difficulties from a different perspective, focusing on improving the quality of your life.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation which provides an opportunity to ask any questions which may be worrying you about the counselling process or my practice.

All enquiries are strictly confidential.

ABOUT ME

Prior to my counselling career, I have worked in various fields including sales and marketing, advertising sales, pharmaceuticals, director of a public house and running my market stall.
My common denominator has always been my interest in human beings and different cultures.

My rich life experiences have given me insight to many of the stressful, and often complex dynamics which modern family life and the pressures of work often present. I have a long-term personal and professional interest how the effects of addiction can have a negative impact on relationships and families.

I have worked at a counselling charity for 6 years supporting clients with a variety of issues including relationships, divorce and separation, gender and sexuality, personality disorders, abortion, bereavement, financial worries, domestic violence, anger and self-harm.  My work as a volunteer counsellor at a rape and sexual abuse charity involved supporting men and women who have experienced unwanted sexual and emotional abuse.

I am a qualified Cruse bereavement counsellor with a personal understanding of the pain when a loved one or pet dies.

I have a small private practice based at my home in Winchester.

I work in accordance with the ethical framework of the British association of counsellors and psychotherapists and receive regular clinical supervision.
