About me

I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with several years experience providing a safe and empowering environment for clients to be heard and understood.

I have a special interest in supporting clients to discover the purpose and meaning of their life and to see how the difficulties they are facing are opportunities for growth.

Clients come to me experiencing ...

  • Anxiety
  • Low self esteem
  • Anger
  • Depression
  • Abuse
  • Loss of direction
  • Panic attacks
  • Bereavement
  • Relationship problems

As an integrative transpersonal therapist I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic skills and to work creatively to enable clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and an awareness of their potential.

How often should I come?

Generally people find that the most effective therapy is achieved through attending weekly sessions.

How long will it take?

It depends very much on what you want to achieve. Short term work (counselling), usually 6-12 sessions, is helpful in focusing on specific issues. Longer term work (psychotherapy) enables us to work with more deep seated issues, patterns and concerns.

What is the next step?

Contact me by phone or email to book your initial session.  During this time you will have the chance to share, in confidence, a little bit about yourself, your concerns and what you want from therapy. Should you decide that therapy with me is right for you then we can then arrange a convenient time to meet each week.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Foundation in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, London - 1 year)
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, London - 4 years)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique certificate (EFT Matrix & Reimprinting Academy)

I worked as a psychotherapist for Help Counselling Services in Notting Hill for four years and subsequently in my own practices in Cirencester, London and now in Wells.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I am also a trained EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) therapist. EFT (sometimes known as ‘tapping’) is a relatively new discovery based on ancient healing principals over 5,000 years ago. It is a highly effective technique that works with the body’s energy system and uses gentle tapping to release blocks caused by stress, and anxiety and trauma.
