Jane Steele Registered Member MBACP
Hello, my name is Jane and thank you for visiting my profile.
I am a Registered Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) working within their ethical framework.
Since I qualified, 10 years ago, I have worked with adults and young people in a variety of establishments including GP surgeries, schools and for several local charities as well as in private practice.
I offer confidential, professional and empathic counselling in a central Peterborough location to individual adults and young people (aged 16 and above). It is usual to have one session per week but this can be increased if necessary. Each session is for 50 minutes. Counselling can be short, medium or long term as required.
As an integrative counsellor I work in a compassionate, warm, non judgemental way and tailored to what you want to achieve. I can help you discover how the past may have influenced the way you think, feel and behave and help you to look at and break any patterns of behaviour that may be causing hurt and destructiveness in your life now. I can also provide various techniques and methods that can help you with any distressing symptoms you experience now (eg panic, anxiety, sleeplessness) and help you become more aware of how your experiences may be affecting you in mind and body.
Counselling is often thought of as 'talking therapy' but sometimes other techniques or activities such as writing, painting and drawing can help us express ourselves when words are difficult to find.
As part of my continuing professional development I regularly attend training courses and workshops in order to further enrich, develop and enhance my work.
Please telephone, text or email me to arrange your first appointment.
