Jane McLaughlin Registered Member MBACP
I am a qualified Person-Centred counsellor with ongoing experience of working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression, both in GP surgeries in an NHS setting and in private practice. I work with many issues including bereavement and loss, relationship issues, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, work related issues and chronic health conditions such as ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. Whatever issues you are currently facing, I offer a warm, safe, empathic and non-judgemental setting in which to explore your feelings.
Depression can affect self-esteem and confidence which can lead to social withdrawal and isolation. It can impact on a sufferer's life, affecting sleep, appetite and concentration. It can lead to relationship and work problems, this all feeds back in to the feelings of worthlessness experienced by a sufferer, therefore maintaining the depression. It can be a vicious circle.
I feel that exploring uncomfortable feelings within an accepting and confidential setting can bring about clarity and an understanding of ourselves and our behaviour. This can bring about change. You are not alone on this journey, I will support you towards feeling happier and more fulfilled in your life.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold Professional Indemnity insurance.
