Jane Revel Clarke
I have been practising Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) for the past ten years within the NHS, in non-statutory services, and in private practice. I offer short to medium term psychotherapy, commonly 8 - 24 sessions, with optional monthly follow up sessions at agreed intervals following the end of weekly therapy. My rooms are in Tavistock and Launceston, easily reached from Plymouth, Liskeard and Okehampton. I offer weekday, Saturday, and early evening appointments.
Training, qualifications & experience
Registered Cognitive Analytic Therapist (ACAT accredited)
Additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) which utilises mindfulness as a means to recognise emotional states, in order to better identify and respond to difficult feelings.
I have worked with individuals struggling with stress, depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, histories of abusive relationships, and what are sometimes referred to as personality disorders. CAT is a 'relational' therapy, exploring current difficulties in terms of patterns of relating emerging from past experiences, often in our formative years. The safety of the therapy relationship, creates space for learning new and more helpful ways of being both with others, and with ourselves.
