I became interested in therapy and how I could support others going through difficult times, over a period of several years of interest in psychology and my life experiences as an immigrant growing up and living in the UK now for over 50 years. I believe that our life experiences shape us from childhood onwards, however, there may be parts of our history which stubbornly persist to affect our relationships both with ourselves and others, our beliefs and other perhaps unhelpful learnt behaviours and attitudes.
You have arrived here as someone probably considering how your life, energy, relationships, libido and happiness has been affected by some of these experiences, such as anxiety, stress, bouts of depressive or low mood feelings, difficulties with relationships and how these are continually affecting your ability to move forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
During my seven years of experience as a Therapeutic Counsellor I have met with clients in a variety of settings such as GP surgeries, specialist school, community counselling service and my private practice; I have had the opportunity to support those who have needed help with whatever life experiences may be causes of distress, trauma and unhelpful behaviours from varied age groups, racial, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
I am particularly interested in the issues that can affect people such as their relationships with other which can bring about experiencing difficulties in relationships with partners, stress in the family dynamics, anxiety and low mood, possibly juggling caring responsibilities with full-time jobs and coping with these complex roles. I have experience of providing counselling for many issues including: anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence. These issues may also have associations with addictions, self-harm, OCD and phobias.
At times it's difficult for us to articulate exactly how we feel or how our issues are affecting us, however, through the process of therapy and the building of a reliable, trusting therapeutic relationship, there is an opportunity explore and bring about some resolution or change.
Perhaps I can help and would appreciate hearing from you.
