Profile
I have been in private practice for 14 years as well as working one day a week for the NHS, so have met with a wide variety of human dilemmas and difficulties and offer counselling to individuals on a short or long term basis according to need.
I can give you support and the privacy to express your innermost thoughts and feelings and, through this process, to recognise some of your underlying assumptions and beliefs which influence the way you see yourself and your relationships with others. Essentially, counselling helps you to discover how you interpret the world and your place in it, and to see how aspects of these interpretations throw up difficulties and conflicts for you.
Exploring your difficulties will often take you back to your childhood. This is not to attribute blame, but to understand what influences helped shape you in your early years of development and which still live on in you today.
I will give you the time to work at your own pace and will help you to make discoveries about yourself. These discoveries give you a new perspective on yourself
and contribute to a re-evaluation of who you are. Through this process of exploration you can gain greater freedom and a range of possibilities in your life and relationships.
