Profile

I have been a BACP Accredited Counsellor since 1997. I am also a UKRCP Registered Counsellor, with nineteen years counselling experience over a wide range of problems. I work with adults and young people offering short, medium and long term counselling and pyschotherapy, so that individuals can work at their own pace.  An appointment can normally be made within five working days. I am able to offer some evening appointments. My counselling room is calm and peaceful and looks onto a large, private garden.

My basic theoretical approach is person-centred. However over the years, I have trained in a number of different models that I incorporate into my practice to suit individual need. I have recently undertaken training in EMDR, a very effective technique for resolving trauma. In addition to working with problems, I help my clients to develop their strengths and resources so that they are more likely to achieve their potential and cope with problems in the future.

I offer a professional, confidential, respectful and compassionate service. My whole working life has been in the helping professions and I bring a wealth of experience to my practice.
