I appreciate its a tricky thing trying to decide who is the best person for you to talk to. You might be feeling a whole bunch of things looking through these listings; worried, excited, desperate, sad, confused , vulnerable, curious or perhaps something else? I only have a few words to try to put you at your ease and try to help as best I can. So here goes.
What do you need to do?
Firstly you can take your time and read through either this short profile or visit my website.
Then, if your interested;
Talk to me over the phone (no cost) so i can answer any questions and address any concerns. Its completely natural to be unsure about counselling or choosing me as your counsellor so this phone chat is a great opportunity for you to find out if you feel ok about starting counselling or if you would like try a different counsellor or a different type of help.
The next step if your comfortable to is to book a session. This will be a no cost opportunity for us to establish: what you would like to talk about in your counselling , what you hope to get, and how many sessions you would like to book. As a general guide i would suggest a block of six sessions with a review at the end of 6 for us to asses where we are. Longer commitments are also possible for example over 20+ sessions.
The counselling itself.
You have a chance to talk and I have an chance to listen. You can talk as much or as little as you like and you can decide what you we do and what we do not talk about. My intention is that together we can create an environment where you will feel safe enough to do speak about what you need to speak about.
A little more about me.
I am an Integrative counsellor who has specialised in using mindfulness based approaches, both individually and in groups to support those suffering from depression and anxiety.
I offer individual counselling. Its very difficult to give a general description of what takes place in counselling as each client counsellor relationship is different. However I hope to provide you with a kind supportive space, where you will feel respected and valued as a person. I also hope that you will feel comfortable to talk with me about what troubles you and that i can provide an opportunity for you to be truly listened to and understood.
As an Integrative counsellor I work using a variety of counselling methods and what that means for you is that hopefully together we can establish a tailor made way of working that helps you.
