About me

I have been a counsellor since 2014 however I have been an NLP coach since 2004. This has given me over twenty years of experience. During this time, I have worked with many different people with a variety of issues. I have also taken a variety of different therapeutic trainings. This has given me therapeutic competence and deep knowledge of therapeutic theory. This means that you will get a tailored experience that will result in real shifts and changes in your life.  When people ask me what I do, I say that I help people who are struggling in high-pressure work environments to improve their situation by developing their resilience, self-esteem, assertiveness, and communication skills.

This means that if you have difficulties at work and you decide to get some support and work with me you can expect the following.

To move from feeling a helpless victim in the workplace to a person with genuine agency.

Together we can do this by:

1.  Facilitating you to emotionally regulate. This means supporting you to work with and respond to difficult emotional experiences both past and present.
2. Supporting you to develop psychological flexibility. This means learning to see situations in new ways as well as learning to challenge and change unhelpful thinking.
3. Supporting you to develop communication flexibility. This means learning to communicate in new ways and behave differently.
4. Helping you to identify your own needs and support you to take proactive steps to getting them met.
5. Helping you to gain clarity over your boundaries.
6. Helping you to respond effectively to a critical workplace environment.
7. This will also mean looking at new ways to talk to yourself.
8. Helping you with interpersonal conflict
9. Learning to respond to failure.
And together we can challenge Perfectionism

This may look a bit overwhelming but I will work with you to establish a pace that works for you.

When you speak to me you will find me to be a person who is easy to speak to. I am non-judgemental and accepting, this means that you do not have to be worried about opening up to me about any difficulties or concerns that you have.

I have empathy, this means that I can appreciate your point of view and that I value what you have to say. You will feel that you matter and are important to me in our sessions. I am interested in you and what you want to tell me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
