I'm James Isserlis (Adv Dip Couns. Registered MBACP), an experienced professional Counsellor who is passionate about helping people to make positive change in their lives.
I have been working for over 10 years within health, social care, and higher education settings promoting health and wellness for adults and young people.
My Career as a Counsellor so far has seen me working as an Associate Counsellor for Plymouth University, Simply Counselling and as a Tutor for Trainee Counselling Students at Devon Counselling College.
In addition to my work as a Counsellor at Plymouth Counselling Service I am also a specialist statutory advocate working in the field of Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Human Rights instructed by Local Authorities, the NHS and Court of Protection.
Plymouth Counselling Services is a safe confidential space to explore issues with professional BACP Registered therapists. We offer one to one consultations and a range of personal development sessions in the Plymouth area. Our aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship which we hope will facilitate positive change in our clients’ lives. In addition we can also provide sessions at a location to suit you.
Many of us have times in our lives when we feel confused and unable to cope – talking to a Counsellor may help if you are going through such a time. People find counselling useful for many different reasons – you do not have to be desperate to benefit from counselling.
Our Sessions enable you to explore difficulties or problems with a person who will listen with acceptance. It can be difficult to talk with friends or family about concerns, counselling can enable you to communicate worries or painful experiences without fear of judgement. We hope that through the process of sharing you will benefit from a new understanding of your issues and yourself.
Plymouth Counselling Services is available to anyone in need, without condition or discrimination of race, faith, class, culture, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, or financial means. (We have a subsidised rate of fees which we keep as low as possible)
