Jade Horton Postgraduate Dip in Counselling and Psychotherapy, BSc Psychology
Are you struggling to negotiate the everyday activities that were once an normal part of life? Whatever you are struggling with, I offer a professional, confidential, non-judgemental environment in which you can explore at your own pace, any feelings or difficulties you maybe experiencing. My role is not to advise, but to listen and support you in exploring the issues that may be blocking your path into a happier life.
How can counselling help?
The aims of counselling are to provide a greater understanding, clarity and perspective on any difficulties you may be experiencing, which will then enable you to understand your reactions and behaviours better and allow you to develop a greater personal insight and self awareness.
What to expect in your first session:
As a trained integrative counsellor, I work from a humanistic/person centred core but am able to use a variety of psychological theories which can be used together to find the right fit for your personality and counselling needs.
I have many years of experience working within a community based substance misuse service, to which many of the service users came with issues of anxiety and depression among other difficulties. In addition to that, I also work with many issues such as self esteem, confidence, anger, depression, loss, anxiety and many other issues that affect all human beings.
I offer evening and Saturday morning appointments. It is easily accessible and is on the ground floor so those with mobility problems will be able to access treatment.
