Jacquie Gammon. Adv Dip Psychotherapist. MBACP
Do you feel stuck in a Rut, Depressed, and Confused or feel that you are Wandering Aimlessly through Your Life?
I believe that our life experiences shape who we are and sometimes those experiences can affect us adversely causing us distress, to feel unhappy, confused, or even at worst worthless.
I firmly believe that the relationship with your Therapist is a valuable one and of the most important choices you will make. I therefore offer an initial appointment free of charge so we can decide if we are able to work together.
I see the Therapist Client relationship as an open and honest relationship. As a therapist I will always do my upmost to treat you with respect, regardless of your race, religion, sexuality, disability, age, class or lifestyle. I will listen to you, accept you for who you are, and be honest with you. I am an honest, accepting, cheerful, tolerant and patient person with a good sense of humour.
I feel passionate about counselling. I have a real trust in the process we undertake and believe that sometimes we need help to understand and perhaps change our process and way of being in order to live a happy and fulfilled life.
I firmly believe it is easy to put a sticking plaster on our issues to visit a Dr and follow a medical route. However I feel if we are to benefit long term the route to take is to actually have the courage to face up to the underlying issues which are causing us to feel unhappy or unfulfilled to look in the mirror and work through our issues.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. My approach is humanistic and non-directive; therefore I view my clients as unique individuals. I believe we are all capable of finding our own answers and solutions to a happier satisfying life sometimes we need another person to support us while we search.
I view the counselling session as ‘your space’ and it is for you to choose what you want to focus on and how you would like to work. I will encourage you to set your own goals for counselling and work towards them, reviewing progress over time.
Since qualifying in 2001 with a European Diploma in Counselling I have worked with a varied and courageous client base covering a wide range of issues: Self-esteem, relationship, self-harm, sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, rejection, attachment issues, Family issues, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBT and interpersonal skills and many more.
I carried on with my training and in 2006 I qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am also fully safeguarding trained and I update my training regularly.
I have 10+ years experience of working with young adults covering a wide and varied range of issues.
My past clients have taught me a lot about life and the issues they strive to overcome. Should you decide to work with me I would feel privileged to accompany you on this part of your life’s journey.
