About me

Hallo I'm Jacquie,

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to look at my profile details.

I believe it is really important that you get the right Therapist for you, someone that you feel really comfortable talking to about things which are often difficult and challenging. Maybe for the first time ever. I offer all potential clients a free initial half hour informal chat, so you can get a sense of what it would be like to work with me. There is no obligation to make any further appointments unless you would like to.

I have had personal experience of both Counselling and Hypnotherapy so I can tell you that it really does work!

I'm an Integrative Therapist, which means I am qualified in a range of techniques which I can draw upon when helping clients.
I am a member of both the BACP and the NCS, Counselling organisations, as well as being a Senior Qualified Hypnotherapist with membership of the General Hypnotherapy Register.
This means that I can use both these combined skill sets to better help my clients achieve their goals and objectives.
Since 2010, I have been counselling clients in a whole range of different environments, including a period where I worked for the mental health charity Mind and in a secondary school, counselling young people on a wide range of issues.

I am currently self employed as a private practitioner.

The way I work can best be described by using a driving metaphor:

I am the Sat Nav - I can help and advise you on the best route to take, help you negotiate problems and be with you throughout your journey, eventually arriving at where you wish to be. You, however, are the one in the driver's seat. We can work together to make change a reality.

Testimonials;

‘Hi

My lovely Counsellor! I am 3000m up a mountain after getting on a cable car.........

Positive mental attitude and a fabulous counsellor got me here!’

I started seeing Jacquie just over a year ago and I can honestly say that I would not be where I am now without her help and guidance.
Jacquie is very easy to talk to and provides a safe, friendly and professional environment which is perfect to explore and talk about any issues. Each session is client-led and completely non-judgemental.'

Kind regards,
A C

... Just to say thanks for your assistance during the Summer. I now feel much happier and confident and have even stopped biting my nails!
...I also managed very well at the social event in London which I had to attend.....

Regards,
G E

...Thank you for all the help you gave me; I was amazing, even if I do say so myself! In general I feel calmer and take frequent opportunities to apply the skills you have taught me.

Thanks again,

Regards,

L P

After a lifetime of worrying and prioritising the wrong things, my sessions talking to Jacquie enabled me to gain perspective on life and to recognise that I as a person was not defined by my career or the car I drove.

Further I was not superman, I could not fly through life accepting evermore responsibility and ignoring, squashing and internalising life’s personal traumas to a compartment at the back of mind - eventually they do escape.

I am a ‘successful’ 51 year old man who considered counselling to be namby-pamby, something other lesser people might need, not me - I was wrong! Now I hope that if you are reading this you have taken the decision to seek help or are a close too it, if so do so now. However minor you may think your problems compared to others they are real to you and must be addressed for your own good.

Now I cannot say that Jacquie is the ‘right’ counsellor for you, as you must be comfortable with whom select, however from a personal perspective I found her excellent! If things do go a little awry in the future or I feel I need a ‘top-up’ I shall have no hesitation in making contact.

A final thought, the process can be painful, you can (probably will) feel worse before you feel better, but stick with it. This will be a journey and one you owe yourself to see through to its conclusion! I have made some major and positive life changes following my sessions with Jacquie.

Please do not delay recognising the need for help is your first big step, now take the next and make an appointment.

RL

Hello Jacquie. I hope you’re well. I just wanted to let you know how much you helped me through such a difficult time in my life and how things are so much better and easier to deal with now. You made me see things from a different perspective and improved my mindset enormously. Thank you for being there for me - I will be forever grateful and hope it will be ok to get in touch again if I feel I need a ‘Jacquie’ top up!
