About me

Welcome. I'm a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, Dialectical Behavior (DBT) therapist and supervisor. I specialise in working with adult survivors of sexual abuse and the treatment of complex trauma and dissociative disorders. I also see individuals for a variety of reasons including depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, dissociative disorders, identity issues, sexuality, personality difficulties, managing emotional responses or relationship difficulties.

I gained an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute in London and was intensively trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, which was followed by specialist supervision from a senior DBT practitioner at the Linehan Institute. Additionally, I am a qualified Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, which is an effective intervention for the treatment of trauma.

Prior to commencing work with potential clients I offer a thorough assessment followed by a discussion about all treatment options and reasons for suggested treatment. I work collaboratively with all my clients, believing that the space I create with them is essential to any therapeutic growth. This space further supports individuals to move through whatever has brought them to therapy at this point in their lives.

I work to the ethical principles and code of professional conduct of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and is also a member of the European Society of Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) and the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MSc Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Training in Eye Movement Densensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Training and Expert Supervision in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • ESTD Foundation in Dissociative Identity Disorder
  • SCID-D assessment training.

I have spent the last 15 years working across a variety of sectors in the NHS, private clinics and prison services, where I have provided psychotherapy to individuals and training to organisations with the aim to support their knowledge, understanding and a healthier integration for all involved. I currently work for the NHS in a specialist personality disorder service and in my private practice in Islington and East London.

I am involved in the provision of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy programme, which is run in the Kings Cross area on Saturday mornings between 10:30 and 12:30. In addition to individual dialectical behaviour therapy we are offering DBT skills classes, which cover modules in Core Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I also provide stand-alone DBT classes for small groups (4-5 people) in Angel, Islington. For more information please go to www.mind-reframed.com/dbtskils.

During DBT skills groups you will learn practical skills which, like roadmaps, can help you make that shift from being at war with your emotions to befriending them and learning to listen to their messages. Clinical evidence suggests that DBT skills are of help to people living with borderline personality disorder and others who experience problems with anger, extreme emotional sensitivity, mood swings, recurrent depression, anxiety, intense or chaotic relationships, impulsivity and stress.
