About me

I am a qualified counsellor & a member of the BACP and follow their guidelines to the ethical framework of good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

Welcome to my profile my name is Jackie and I offer a calming and caring, open minded approach towards the therapeutic relationship in counselling. I also offer access to a diverse, multi-disciplinary range of expertise to provide the most effective course of psychological therapy and counselling. Where there is no evidence of psychological problems, I provide coaching and counselling for individuals to find solutions to issues that are affecting their lives. All assessments and treatments are provided in complete confidence.

You may feel overwhelmed on the start of your journey into therapy, and picking up the phone may also be a scary thought! With this in mind, please leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can. With my passion to support you, I assure you will feel at ease and that you have made the right choice with myself, as our relationship is established with commitment and trust. I will not judge and will allow you to discuss your issues in a safe comfortable place. As you are what is important, we can discuss difficulties at your own pace.

I have many years experience in working with others making a few small changes. Which have made big differences in their lives to feel more in control, instead of feeling out of  control.

I currently today am managing a Chronic Pain Condition (Fibromyalgia), in which I specialise in working with Pain Management techniques.

I will not judge, or advise you. And believe in finding the right counselor, for the right client extremely important. I hope that you take the first and hardest step to book an appointment today, and share your concerns with someone that cares...

Training, qualifications & experience

I have privately studied at 'Victoria Counselling Service' where I gained a qualification in Basic Counselling Skills and also my qualifications in Advanced Psychotherapy/Counselling and then furthered on to a Practitioners Course giving me more knowledge on the therapies below.
I have qualifications in CBT/TA/Person Centred Therapy gained from the AQA Awarding Body.

I also have skills and qualifications in Solution Focused Therapy where I can guide clients to look at solving problems rather than wanting to work with the past and move forward with making small changes in your life.

Volunteer Counselor working for 'MIND' in Southend Branch.

I have had former experience in being in the role of a client. Foremost I understand the difficulties communicating can be. And, especially when we feel our problems are not as bad as others, my listening skills are of quality having run in my day job a role as a hairdresser.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
