Jack Pijl (PGDip, BACP registered member), Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
42 Cannon Workshops
Cannon Drive (Off Hertsmere Road)
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Psychotherapist - in advanced clinical training - in Relational Transactional Analysis also drawing on Psychoanalytical ways of working, registered member with the BACP, trainee member with the UKCP and registered with AXA and WPA through Healthcode.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe place to focus on any issues that you may be struggling with as an individual or in your relationship as a couple. Together, we can identify new perspectives to create a better understanding of what is going on for you and enable you to take charge of your feelings and behaviours better. This will enable you to make changes so that you can make better decisions and choices based on a deeper understanding of yourself.
I work in a method that includes Relational Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic approaches. This means that I use my skill and expertise to facilitate you to gain a better understanding of the often unconscious patterns of your behaviour. Together we will make meaning of your internal struggles and feeling of being stuck to understand them better by identifying their root causes.
In my work with couples, I take a non-judgemental, neutral position, so that together we can identify the ways you and your partner interact. We can uncover what patterns of behaviour lead to dissatisfaction, criticism, or distance. Each of you are invited to better understand what you really need from each other.
I am committed to ethical, non-discriminatory practice and welcome individuals and couples from all walks of life. I abide by the principles and ethics of the BACP and UKCP.
I work and have experience with many conditions and concerns, including low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, sexuality, identity, bereavement, grief, anger management, LGBT issues, and relationship difficulties.
I have experience with Personality Disorders such as Bipolar, Borderline, Anti-Social, Obsessive Compulsive and Schizoid, and also Disorders such as Anxiety, Eating, Depressive, Panic and PTSD.
Also work related issues such as stress, performance anxiety, communication problems and other managerial and non managerial issues. I am also available to coach on significant job related issues such as career counselling, redundancy, promotions, developing new leaders and managers.
