Hello,
I am an experienced Counsellor offering you time and space to talk through issues that may be impacting on your private or professional life. It can often be hard to take the first step towards counselling and I offer you a warm, confidential and empathic space where I hope you will feel comfortable to talk.
Person-Centred Counselling enables you to move at your own pace and find your own answers within an independant and non-judgemental relationship, that supports growth and self-awareness. I embrace a wide range of issues that may relate to self esteem, anger, stress, anxiety, abuse, grief, loss and trauma.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working within their ethical framework.
I work within a therapy centre close to Carlisle (see map) and I offer single session and longer term counselling. A counselling session is normally one hour.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
BA (Hons) in Person Centred Counselling
University Advanced Diploma (UAD) in Person-Centred Approach to Trauma & Loss
Diploma (HE) in Counselling
Certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLLS)
Certificate in Business Studies
I am an Independant Counsellor in Private Practice and I am currently Staff Counsellor within the Education Sector, where I have worked for several years. I have delivered Counselling Skills Courses and Personal Development Workshops and worked within the private and public sector for many years, experiencing a variety of roles from Counsellor to Administrator and Lecturer to Facilitator. My experience also includes working within the NHS and counselling clients referred from GPs Surgery.
I have Advanced Training in Trauma & Loss and experience of Individual & Couple Counselling, Creative Therapy and Mediation.I am currently completing a Certificate in Clinical Supervision as part of my continued professional development.
