About me

We all experience moments when we feel lost or out of control. Past or current issues often leave us feeling unsure of how to regain control of our lives or unable to look optimistically towards the future. Counselling can help with many of the emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties that we experience; it can also be helpful for more common aflictions such as periods of depression, stress or anxiety. As a qualified counsellor, I offer a professional service aimed at helping clients who are struggling with life's challenges, whatever they may be.

Call or email me to arrange a free initial telephone consultation.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy from my office which is conveniently located next to Bank tube station. Working together we can help you to secure a better understanding of yourself, to overcome the obstacles in your life, and to reach your goals.

I am an integrative therapist and my experience includes working with both adults and children in a variety of settings, including schools, the NHS, and other non-profit organisations. I have worked with a range of issues, from career-related stress and relationship difficulties to anxiety, bereavement and addictions. However, I am happy to work with whatever difficulties you may currently be struggling with. I work primarily within the person-centered and psychodynamic approaches to therapy, which rely heavily upon use of the therapeutic relationship. The quality of the relationship between therapist and counsellor is a major factor contributing to the positive outcome of therapy, and so this is a major focus of my work with clients.

I believe in the human capacity for positive change. I offer a safe and confidential environment in which to explore difficulties and assist you in finding solutions to your problems. I regard each client as an individual with a unique history and personality, and so my practice is tailored to meet each individual client's needs. I believe that therapy can be transformative and life-changing; not only in terms of gaining insight into the difficulties in your life, but also in supporting the behavioural changes that will ultimately lead to your emotional well-being and happiness.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic and Person Centred Counselling from the University of Edinburgh (2013) which I obtained with Distinction. I was also previously awarded with an M. A. (Hons) in Management and Psychology from the University of St Andrews (2009).

I started counselling with the NHS voluntarily in 2012, where I offered short-term therapy in the Occupational Health department. I have also worked with Wellspring in Edinburgh, where I gained experience of working with clients in longer-term therapy. Since finishing my diploma, I have worked with the Place2Be in London, which operates in primary schools to help children with emotional difficulties. Additionally, I now work in my own practice, Core Care Counselling, in Central London.

Additionally, I am an Anxiety UK approved therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity's members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK's regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, training, insurance and professional body membership.

As well as the above counselling qualifications, I continue to undertake training in other specific areas via workshops and continuing professional development, including Mindfulness.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
