About me

If you know you are not happy but don't know why...

If you feel no one understands you or that you do not fit in....Counselling might provide the answer.

Together, we will work through your issues, your hopes and your fears.

We will explore your current difficulties in a kind and non-judgmental way.

I will try to help you make some changes aimed at resolving your current problems and improving your quality of life, if and when you feel ready to do so.

One of my area of expertise is bereavement support which I offer to people of all ages.

I am an accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist working from a "Person Centered" perspective, although I may offer other therapies in sessions, as and when it feels appropriate and with your consent.

I provide one to one short and long term counselling from my home situated in Maidenhead, within easy access of Bray, Cookham, Bourne End and Marlow and Burnham.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Counselling
  • Post Graduate Certificate in CBT
  • Cruse Bereavement Care Accreditation
  • Cruse Training in Children and Young People Bereavement Support
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy Certificate
  • ITA certified NLP Practitioner

Prior to counselling, I worked in many and varied fields including the airline and fashion industries. However, the common denominator has always been my interest in people.

Continuing Personal and Professional Development are important to me and I attend training courses and workshops regularly.

I also receive clinical supervision on a monthly basis.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I was born and raised in Paris.

I am happily married with a grown up son and daughter.

I have lived in England for over 43 years so I have an understanding of what it is like to adjust to a new culture and country. I work in both English and French.

I can, subject to referrals, make special arrangements to visit the elderly and housebound in their own home or residential care home.

Some testimonials:

"Isabelle is a very understanding, compassionate and intuitive counsellor. I am very glad to have found her during a time when I had overwhelming anxiety. She provided me with the insight and direction I needed to understand and work through my emotional turmoil." Mel (20's)

"I have found Isabelle to be sensitive, perceptive and compassionate. She has travelled with me as I have re-visited some very painful experiences/times in my life, always accepting me wherever I was. I am leaving my time with her with a new and more positive understanding of myself. I trust myself more and I have found a new enthusiasm for my life as I feel more in touch with myself and am enthusiastically carving a new path in life. One that is more aligned with my true purpose." Juliet (40's)

"I have only known Isabelle for a short time but in that time, I have found her to be kind, patient and a good listener. She helped me through the death of my husband and I have found her help extremely valuable. She does not give advice but suggests how to handle things or see things differently." Susan (70's)

"Isabelle, to me, was a great listener. She never judged nor influenced me in any way. I knew she was there for me and still is now, through everything. Isabelle is a kind and thoughtful person and has always made me consider the bigger picture in my problems. Her help enabled me to overcome my issues and view things more positively." Sophie (16)

Laure (30's)
