About me
At any stage of our lives we may face issues and difficulties that can overwhelm us. Since 2008, I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds to help address these challenges.
You may feel relatively clear about the reason for seeking help, for instance wanting support in dealing with a specific issue such as a relationship difficulty, bereavement, divorce, redundancy, health or work issue. You may want help with depression or anxiety, or you may be struggling to like yourself. Or perhaps you just feel stuck or have a sense that something isn’t quite right and want time and space to reflect on your life and where you are going.
I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and offer one-to-one therapy to people over 16 years of age.
I work from my own consulting room in Moseley. I provide a space where you can explore whatever is troubling you, safely and in confidence. Together we can reflect on how you feel about yourself, your situation, your life and relationships.
I offer short and long-term therapy. For example, our work may be short-term focusing on a single issue to help you though a specific life situation. Should the issues you want to work on be more complex and deep-rooted we may work in a longer-term, open-ended way, exploring patterns in your life and how past experiences are affecting you in the present. How long we work together depends on a number of factors such as your needs, the nature of the issues you bring and what you hope to achieve.
In the first instance I will suggest meeting for an initial consultation session. This will give you the opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and together we can decide on the help you are looking for. During the session you will also get an idea of how I work and if I am the right therapist to help you.

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have regular supervision and continue to attend trainings, courses and workshops as part of my CPD.
I have been working as a therapist since 2008 and have experience of working in NHS, education, charity and voluntary settings. I have also set up a student counselling service in an Academy school.
I now work in private practice with people over 16 years of age. I also work part time as an honorary psychotherapist within the NHS.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
