Thank you for visiting my page ... deciding to have some counselling can be the first empowering step from a place of despair to a place of hope and movement forward. It is my belief that counselling offers a safe space for reflection on your life journey and I am passionate about the power of the individual to change.
Gaining insight into underlying conflicts can bring enormous relief and greater insight from where change can happen. Change is a process and I work within a variety of approaches depending on your own unique needs.
My first training, however, is based on a particular approach called “psychodynamic” which seeks an understanding of the unconscious reasons for our behaviours brought from the past into our present lives and repeating patterns.. These behaviours, and cycles of behaviour, are often re-created and can be understood within the counselling relationship. Understanding the triggers for these patterns and recognising them when they happen can lead you to bring about the change you seek. I have seen this happen many times ... that “aha” moment which can become the locus for change.
My therapy rooms are based in both Kettering and Corby and I offer day and late afternoon appointments. My professional membership is with the BACP and I work within their Ethical Principles and Guidelines.
I look forward to being of service to you.
