Profile

An experienced therapist, I offer a free, confidential first session to discuss your needs before you decide if you would like to proceed. I am a caring and approachable person and aim to provide support withing a safe and trusting environment. I work with both short and longer term clients.

We all face difficult times in our lives and sometimes find that our usual ways of coping are not working. Together, we can look at what has brought you to counselling and explore your thoughts and feelings to help you to gain an understanding of how past events, a problem in the present, or fears for the future, can be affecting your daily living.

I have been working as a counsellor for over fifteen years and am able to draw on experience and training to enable me to provide the approach that is right for you.

I work with a wide range of issues, including; anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, stress at work, anger, childhood issues, eating disorders, self esteem, panic.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, Certificate in Counselling Skills

Primary Certificate Course in Advanced Cognitive Behavioural Skills

I regularly participate in training courses. Recent topics have been: Chronic conditions and disability; Telephone Counselling; Confidentiality and record keeping; Working with endings; Existential Psychotherapy; Working with shame.

The initial session is free. Subsequent sessions (50 minutes) are £40.

I work in private practice in consulting rooms in Fareham and Winchester, both have parking close by and are easily accessible by public transport.

I have experience of working with a number of charitable counselling organisations and for local government counselling service.
