Imma Sorrentino Ricciardi Dip Couns, Bsc (Hons)
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer one to one counselling in a safe, warm, confidential space.
There are times in our lives when we go through difficulties, we might feel depressed, struggling with anxiety, or feeling stuck and confused. Times when talking to a friend isn't enough. Counselling can help you!
During our weekly session, you can talk about what bothers you, your feelings, etc (you decide what you want to share). By exploring your feelings and emotions, you might gain some insights, start to see things differently and understand how to move forward and making changes in your life.
In the first session you will be able to talk about what concerns you and you can experience how I work and decide if I am the right counsellor for you. It is important that we are able to build a good relationship, so that you can feel comfortable to discuss whatever troubles you, knowing that you will be heard with respect and without judgement.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a degree in Psychology, and I hold a Higher Professional Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and receive regular clinical supervision to ensure that I am providing the best therapeutic support for my clients.
I have experience of working with adults with a broad range of issues and mental health problems (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addictions, low self esteem, divorce, abuse, domestic violence, relationship issues, anger, etc.)
Besides private practice, I currently work for a community based counselling project in West London that helps individuals that struggle with substance misuse (mainly alcohol and drugs).
In the past I worked on other projects, as well, that offered counselling to parents struggling with their teenager children.
