About me

As an integrative counsellor and mindful practitioner I combine different models of counselling, tailored to suit my client's needs. At 23yrs, following 2 years national military service and 2 years of travelling, I began work as a volunteer person centred/ humanistic counsellor at Life Line international, South Africa, progressing further in 2003 as a CBT based (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) trauma counsellor, working with victims of violent crime, rape and domestic abuse. Around about the same time I began practising mindfulness and meditation. At 25yrs I completed my HND Fine Arts which marked the beginning of my journey as a professional artist. Over time I have integrated my skills and my passions into my counselling practice.

How I work.

I take time to listen to you and understand your situation. I offer a safe and confidential space  where you can spend time sharing past or present events without being judged, with someone to whom you are unattached. During our initial session we can discuss what you want from counselling and establish a collaborative arrangement that suits your needs. I offer short term (6 to 8 sessions), or longterm counselling. Counselling is sometimes tough, it can even feel frightening sharing your thoughts and feelings aloud, but working through difficult feelings can offer real clarity and relief, helping you to regain a sense of control and empowerment.

The easiest way to contact me is to send me an email or text with your contact details and I'll get back to as soon as I can.

I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
