About me

"If nothing changes, nothing changes".
I have many years experience working with those brought up in alcoholic or dysfunctional homes (ACOA or ACA) and others with alcohol or drug addictions of their own.

Please read my articles:

I am have availability so please feel free to email or call me and we can set up a brief free phone call assessment before hopefully arranging sessions either face-to-face here in Bath or online via Zoom. A first session, in complete confidence and with no commitment to continue, would give us both the opportunity to assess and see whether you feel my person-centred counselling suits you or not.

I am NCAC Accredited - meaning I have jumped through all sorts of hoops for my counselling governing body, addictionprofessionals.org.uk, to become a better counsellor and therefore better able to help you. I meet with a trained supervisor regularly for the same purpose.

See fees below.

As someone with the condition, I've also written two articles on tinnitus at the bottom of this profile: "Tinnitus - adapting and coping techniques" & "Tinnitus - learning to live with it".

ADDITIONAL AREAS OF COUNSELLING I CAN HELP WITH:

  • Adult Children of Alcoholics issues (ACOA)
  • Giving up Smoking
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low Self-Confidence/ Low Self-Esteem

EXPERIENCE:
I run a private practice and have worked in both daycare (DHI, Bath) and residential (Clouds House/Action on Addiction) centres and have long experience in 12 Step methods (abstinence) and Harm Reduction models of treatment (cutting down). We will work collaboratively together to seek solutions best suited to you and, in the case of an addiction, help in overcoming a problem over which you may feel you have little or no control.

ACCESS:
Face-to-face sessions are available to those living in the Bath, UK area.
Many clients are seeing me through 50 minute Zoom sessions.

I hold National Counsellor Accreditation (NCAC), am an Accredited Drug & Alcohol Counsellor, and an Advanced Practitioner Member of Addiction Professionals.
