About me

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist offering a safe and confidential environment to help you address the emotional and practical issues that can overwhelm and interrupt day to day living.

Deciding to see a counsellor can be a hard decision to take. If you are stressed or distressed, perhaps finding it hard to cope, sharing these difficulties in counselling will help you gain a new perspective and give you the experience of being heard, thought about and understood. Everyone is different, I offer short and long term therapy according to your specific needs.

I will provide support for a broad range of emotional issues including: depression and anxiety, relationship problems, work-related stress and life stress stress, health issues, loss and bereavement, trauma and abuse, addictions and compulsive behaviours.

I can can help with difficulties at work and in your personal life and will help you link past experiences, such as early childhood and family relationships, to current problems in order for you to achieve a healthy different perspective and improved relationships.

Counselling is non-judgemental, you are free to express fears and problems which have been previously unexplored. You will have a confidential and professional place for you to understand the issues that brought you to therapy.

The first meeting is an assessment and is longer than a counselling session, in order to give you sufficient time to discuss the kind of therapy that is best suited to you, as well as practical considerations such as length of counselling and a mutually convenient day and time. Whatever is troubling you we will work together to understand, overcome and move forward.

My consulting rooms are in a private City practice, the PCP Psychotherapy and Counselling Centre in London EC3, near Bank tube station. Due to current circumstances I am working online only at the moment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the University of Oxford gaining a Masters Degree in Psychodynamic Practice, Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling.

I work in a private City practice as part of the PCP Counselling and Psychotherapy team and have worked in a large charity organisation.

I work integratively using a range of therapy skills including: Psychodynamic, Integrative, CBT and Mindfulness according to your specific needs.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist I undertake regular supervision and a member of BACP and UPCA working within their codes of Ethics and Practice.

As a member of BACP and UPCA I regularly attend conferences on current thinking and research into psychotherapy as it continues to evolve.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
