Hilary Green MA (Oxon), MSc, PG Dip, Registered MBACP (Accred)
Natural Health Clinic
98 Cathedral Road
I am an experienced, qualified and accredited counsellor/psychotherapist. I offer a compassionate, safe, and non-judgemental therapy for short or longer term.
Our sessions will provide you with the chance to talk to an understanding professional, outside of your day-to-day situation, in a setting which is confidential.
Together we will begin to make sense of your experiences, and to enable you to move forward. Sometimes this can mean making changes in the way you live, or the way you relate to yourself and others. Sometimes it is about choosing to see things differently.
How I work
I will not ask you to commit to a particular number of sessions in advance; this is something we will agree together as our work progresses. I am happy to see you for an initial session so that you can see how it feels to talk about your troubles with me, and so that I can make sure that I am the right person to help you. I charge that initial session at a reduced rate.
If you are interested in knowing about my theoretical approach, I work in a way that is relational, and person-centred. My training was integrative, which allows me to draw on other approaches where I feel this would be helpful for my client.
I have experience in dealing with a very broad range of issues, including depression, anxiety, panic, relationship problems, OCD, self-esteem, bereavement, fertility problems and difficulties at work.
Where I work
My private practice is based at Radyr, Cardiff, and at The Natural Health Clinic, 98 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LP. My room in Radyr is within a couple of minutes walk from Radyr train station, and is easily accessible, with parking in the vicinity.
My previous experience includes work with people affected by cancer, and with women who have been affected by domestic abuse and other forms of violence. I have also counselled students at the University of Wales, Newport, and at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I have worked as a counsellor in the staff counselling service at Cardiff University for three years, where I developed a particular interest in resilience. I now work for the University's Staff Wellbeing Service.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and work according to the Association’s ethical guidelines.
