About me

I remember how difficult it was trying to find the right therapist for myself over 25 years ago. It’s extremely important to know you are in safe hands and your therapist is competent, capable, trustworthy and able to support you for the short or long term. You hope to be properly heard and understood and feel able to explore issues that are affecting you. You want to feel happier, supported, adopt coping strategies, if needed, and discover a place of calm despite the challenges you are facing. If this is what you are looking for then please get in touch.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with 17 years of experience within therapy.  I ooze energy and passion for my work as I love to see others thrive and enjoy supporting others with their mental health and wellbeing.  I work with many different issues including:

  • anxiety
  • adhd
  • panic attacks
  • loss
  • relationships
  • family issues
  • menopause
  • self harm
  • depression
  • dissociation/dissociative disorders
  • trauma
  • phobias (particularly emetophobia)
  • fears
  • obsessions/compulsions
  • Confidence
  • I work in a creative and flexible way to ensure the therapy aligns with your way of thinking and doing. If you require short term or long term, face to face or online please get in touch to see if I can assist you on this path to a more "positive new you".

If you think I'm the therapist for you then please get in touch. I can assure you of a warm reception and I look forward to hearing from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
