Helga St Blaize is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist specialising in adults with career/lifestyle focussed needs, as well as those experiencing the onset of traumatic change and conflicting desires.
Helga's approach is particularly effective at addressing the poor impulse control, mood disorders, anxiety, anger, depression and interpersonal issues that can result from difficult early attachments. An individual may struggle with destructive behaviours such as addictions, eating and sleep disorders, self-harm, sexual dysfunctions or obsessive compulsive tendencies.
In working towards repair, Helga strives to explore the past in a meaningful way, linking it to current circumstances: so that the future is embraced with more resilience and greater confidence. She believes that a warm and supportive therapeutic connection is essential to the provision of an environment where fundamental shifts within the brain can take place, disrupting harmful habits and leading to a more robust and resilient approach to life.
Training, qualifications & experience
Helga trained at the attachment focused Bowlby Centre. She worked as an honorary psychotherapist at the Munro Centre, Guy's Hospital, until June 2016 as well as in the voluntary sector.
