Profile
I am an experienced psychotherapist trained in both CBT and Relational Psychotherapy and with an interest in finding the right approach for each client. My first training was in Transactional Analysis, which is a humanist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), so I am experienced in helping people to find immediate, practical solutions to emotional difficulties.
I am also very interested in ways of working in the therapeutic relationship (Relational and Depth Psychotherapy) which means I can work at therapeutic depth with those clients who feel they want to really explore who they are and what it is like for others to be in a relationship with them.
I believe that the single most important factor in counselling/therapy is finding the style of approach that most suits you as well as finding a therapist or counsellor you can 'click' with.
My experience in the field and my ongoing engagement in training and supervision means I have a wide set of experiences that I can draw on in helping you to find your way to a more fulfilling life.
I am Clinical Director at The Lightwell Practice, a collection of ethical and like-minded practitioners who strive to provide good quality therapeutic services to individuals, families and workplaces.
The Lightwell Practice offers beautiful, modern, newly renovated practice rooms and is the only counselling centre in Skipton to offer free parking and disabled access rooms.
