About me

As a person-centred counsellor I believe that most people possess the inner strength and resources to work through and find some solutions to the difficulties they are experiencing in life. My role is to provide a safe, accepting and empathic space in which we can explore and work through together what you may want to change and what may be holding you back in this process. We will work entirely at your pace and I am happy to work with you for as long as you feel you need - a few weeks, a few months or longer. We will normally meet for weekly sessions of 50 minutes duration.

Counselling can often help when you are dealing with situations such as:-

  • Bereavement or loss
  • Feeling stressed, anxious or depressed
  • Disability or illness for yourself or those close to you
  • Work or financial difficulties
  • Problems with everyday functioning such as sleeping, eating, relationships and general wellbeing
  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Or, you may simply want more out of your life but are unable to see a way of achieving this.

Counselling can give you the time and space to talk through your worries and concerns in a way you may not be able to do with family and friends. It is an opportunity for you to look in depth at things you might be able to change in your life leading to a greater sense of contentment and fulfilment. It also helps to accept the reality of some things which you are unable to change but would like to deal with in a better way, therefore restoring your sense of wellbeing.
