About me

Please note I am on leave from the 3rd to the 15th of December 2022, so I will not be responding to messages or emails during this time.
Thank you.

I have been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in the NHS and in private practice, for over 20 years. I offer a confidential, safe space for you to talk freely about the concerns and difficulties you are experiencing.

I work in a collaborative way, tailoring my approach in response to your presenting problems and needs. We may explore the links between past events and current problems, developing insights and opening up the potential for you to move through the blocks that are holding you back. We may concentrate on the present and find ways to change patterns of thinking and behaviour that are currently causing you distress. I respect the progress individuals make. Small steps can lead to big changes.

Acknowledging that you may need to talk to someone about how you are feeling can be very difficult. Contacting someone is a courageous step on a journey that may ultimately lead to considerable relief. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have and I will aim to get back to you within 24 hours.

I see individuals and couples, on a short term basis, where the focus is on achieving specific goals and on a longer term open ended basis, to enable the working through of more deep seated issues.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

There are downstairs rooms at the Centre where I work, subject to availability.
