109-117 Waterloo Road
I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor, offering both long-term and brief (8-10 sessions) therapy to individuals aged over 18. I have particular experience in working with bereavement and loss and more generally with life transitions (career change, retirement, illness and disability, starting and ending relationships, etc). I have experience and interests in intellectual work and creative expression - working with writers, musicians, and academics. I have worked extensively with issues of depression, stress and anxiety, self-esteem and confidence.
I believe in starting from the 'here and now' of your current issues or problems, working with you to understand and find ways of challenging old patterns and ways of thinking and behaving to make life more satisfying and meaningful.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the Metanoia Institute, obtaining a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling in 2013. I have practised in a number of settings, including the NHS, community counselling services and Higher Education.
I have also had a long career as a qualitative researcher and writer on social policy, working on issues of inequality, discrimination and disadvantage across the lifecourse.
In addition to my private practice, I am currently working in a hospice setting and in Higher Education.
