About me

Thank you for visiting my page. Finding the right counsellor is a really important part of the counselling process. The relationship you develop with each other will have a big influence on the outcome of the work you do together.

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I offer counselling face to face, by phone or skype and work short term (4-6 weeks) or long term according to your needs. The first session is 1 hour as it involves taking down some personal details. Otherwise sessions are 50 minutes.

I am an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor. My main approach is person centered but I find it useful to draw on other approaches as and when they seem to be appropriate for each individual client. If you look at my website you can find out more about me but please note that the website is mainly directed towards those working in the humanitarian sector overseas. This is not meant to exclude anyone who is not!

People come to counselling for many reasons. If you are feeling low, stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, isolated, unable to cope, it may give you the opportunity to understand more clearly what is going and help you get back on track.

The Counselling Directory website provides lots of useful information to help guide you through getting help, and what you might like to think about before approaching a counsellor, such as which approach might be best for you. I really recommend having a look if you haven't already done so.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I have Diplomas in Integrative Humanistic Counselling and in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also have a foundation Degree in Counselling.
  • I am registered with the BACP and follow their Ethical Standards and Framework to ensure safe, professional practice.
  • I work part-time with young people in a secondary school (14-18 years).
  • I also work with private clients, both adults and young people (16-18 years).
  • I have and continue to take part in Continuous Professional Development trainings and activities.

I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation for you to decide whether you think this feels right for you.

Thereafter I charge £40 per session.

Please note that my fees on my website are higher for overseas clients to allow for the practical challenges of less reliable internet connections in some places they are working and the extra time I therefore make available for this.
