Heidi Mellonie Registered MBACP
When you feel stuck, lost, or in crisis, counselling can help you see the way ahead and make sense of your experiences.
Working from counselling rooms in central Bedford and Rushden town centre locations. I aim to offer a warm, friendly, safe, comfortable and non judgemental space where clients are free to explore their concerns.
I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP Registration number 178448). My counselling training is Humanistic and Integrative. Within my practice I adopt a person centred approach to each counselling session and work with my clients with the material they choose to bring to counselling. I am very holistic in nature and as an integrative practitioner I understand that one single approach to therapy may not suit everybody, therefore I integrate other modalities of counselling into my practice to allow my clients further opportunities for exploration where appropriate.
My counselling experience includes both short and long term counselling contracts working with young people and adults. In addition to my private practice I have gained several years experience working with the charities Rape Crisis and Mind. I have significant experience of working with relational issues, rape, abuse, stress, anger, anxiety and depression.
Counselling can offer a unique opportunity to talk about and explore your experiences within a safe environment, this process can provide light and clarity when all seems cluttered. Please feel free to telephone or email in order to arrange a convenient appointment or have an initial chat about the therapy I offer.

In my practice I offer an initial assessment session (priced at a lower rate) for clients to assess whether counselling is for them and for clients to explore what their hopes and motivations are for their therapy. As a Person Centred/Humanistic therapist I recognise that the relationship between client and therapist is crucial if the therapeutic relationship is going to be effective. Therefore, there is absolutely no obligation for clients to continue following assessment if they feel that counselling is not for them.
