Profile
Each person who comes for counselling is unique, bringing with them a view of their world and their place in it. This is what I base my counselling work on with both individuals and couples, endeavouring to understand and to respect each persons perspective. Sometimes that uniqueness can carry with it a sense of isolation. My aim in working with you would be to reduce that feeling of isolation, exploring the possibility of change and how you might be able to facilitate that change. Whether it is depression, low self esteem, feelings of separation, guilt or grief- all of these can be a heavy burden for one person to carry.
I have been counselling for the last 15 years both in private practice and for organisations. I have been both group and individual counsellor at a children's hospice in Fife and Supervisor for groups of counsellors. For the last 14 years I have been a counsellor for a GP practice and I also work for several EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) providers, offering counselling for company employees.
I am a supervisor with Cruse as well as with individuals.
My particular interests within counselling lie with stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties and loss and change.
