Sarah Templeton - Counsellor, CBT & Life Coach

Finding the right counsellor is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack but I will tell you a little bit about how I work and what I believe in, and then if you would like a telephone chat before you decide to book to see me, you are very welcome.
I have worked 'helping people' for the past twenty years and came to counselling through first volunteering with the homeless in London. I started off as a mentor, then trained as a life coach, more recently as a counsellor and finally as a CBT Therapist.
I think I now have a pretty good 'box of tools' to help people going through most situations.
Sometimes its obvious why we are feeling low - redundancy, bereavement, divorce for example and I can certainly help at those times. But at other times a general feeling of melancholy, boredom, frustration, not feeling you are living life to the full .... those can be the times it's difficult to know who to turn to. And that is where I definitely know I can help.
This is where life coaching can help you identify just what it is that's holding you back from living the life you want. There might be unresolved issues from your past, or your present that counselling can help with initially but from then on together we can identify exactly what you want from your life and how to actually make that happen.
No challenge is too great for me. I've worked with prisoners wanting to escape crime and turn their lives around to a warehouse assistant desperate to be a chef. So however hopeless, defeated or negative you might feel about having the life you actually want, as opposed to the one you are living, if you are prepared to put the work in - together we can achieve your goals. And that's a guarantee.
Another area of my personal expertise is employment. I have owned successful employment agencies since 1990 and if its your career that's bringing you down or not fulfilling you, I've got 26 years experience to draw on! It was re focussing his CV that turned the warehouse assistant into a Chef - he'd actually got all the skills and even experience necessary but low self esteem and the inability to re-work his CV were all that was holding him back. In 8 weeks I took him from his lowest point ever in his 40 years, slogging for hours in Poundland's warehouse for minimum wage - to a trainee Chef position in the Channel Islands.
So if you aren't sure exactly what is wrong, why you aren't enjoying life as much as you think you could, I will do my absolute best to help you identify just what it is that will transform your life.
I genuinely love my work and nothing makes me happier than seeing clients succeed.
So if you think a counsellor with CBT skills and a strong belief in the power of life coaching could be what you need, I really look forward to hearing from you.
