You or your family maybe going through a difficult phase in your life right now. You probably feel helpless or even hopeless. The important thing to remember is, that this is normal for us human beings, even therapist! Second thing to remember is that this won't last. Know that there is hope beyond your pain. Sometimes with all the best will in the world, our families and friends are not able to help us when we experiencing such pain. Using a therapist, can help you to to overcome your problems and set you back on the right path. This is my true mission, to offer hope in the midst of despair.
I am a Systemic Family therapist. I specialise in Individual , Couple and Family therapy.
I specialise in Childhood behaviours and developmental difficulties. I have worked as a CAMHS specialist family therapist for over 20 years in the NHS, Social Care and Education.
When working with you, my aim is to create a safe space for you to feel listened to, to help make sense of the issues that you are facing and to find a way forward. Sometimes it takes someone else, who is Non-judgmental to help gain clarity. My style is to ask questions, explore the issues, consider possible solutions and encourage and support you.
I am happy to answer any questions that you might have before we meet. The first session generally involves building a rapport, exploring the issues and to establish what it is you would like to achieve from therapy.
Frequency of sessions depends on the needs of the client. Generally I would see clients for 1:1 sessions weekly, however this can be negotiated. Couples or families generally attend sessions 2 weekly. Average amount of sessions recommended are 6 sessions, but this is not set in stone as some people may require more or less .
