Hayley Crawford MBACP (Accred.)
Hi, I'm Hayley,
I have been a Counsellor for several years now working from various venues around West Yorkshire. I have worked with a diverse mixture of people from all backgrounds, circumstances and ages.
I value my role greatly and feel being able to support people, often when they are at their most vulnerable, is a privilege. I aim to communicate this to my clients and work tirelessly to see the world through their eyes whilst we work together. I have an open and transparent way of working, which i hope comes across in the counselling room.
I am constantly aware of the importance of condfidentiality in my role as a counsellor and believe it is the bed rock of the therapeutic relationship. I am always mindful of the trust that is being placed in me when somebody shares their inner most thoughts and feelings.
Training, qualifications & experience
My journey into counselling began when i did an introductory course which only lasted a few weeks but was long enough to get me hooked! Shortly after this i began my Certificate in Counselling which led to my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have accredited status. I am also a member of their Children and Young People division. I have recently completed a BSc in Counselling at Leeds Beckett University.
Since qualifying as a Counsellor i have continued to study and progress. There are probably too many to list but other qualifications and workshops include; A Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents, Transactional Analysis 101, Stress Management, Working with people on the Autistic Spectrum, Attachment Disorder, Anxiety and Depression, Abuse, Loss and Bereavement.
I work in in private practise and also in a Further Education setting.

I pride myself on being warm, friendly and professional. I welcome the feed- back given from the people I work with, which thank fully reflects this.
I trained initially as a Person Centred Counsellor, which I still consider to be at my core. However, as I have continued to learn and develop I have become more integrative and value having a broad range of techniques and methods. I don’t believe that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is enough and my way of working reflects this.
I am constantly learning, not only in the class room and from my own life experiences but also from listening to and hearing my clients.
