About me

I don't know who I am right now. I have no idea where I am going. How did I even get to this point and what on earth do I do now to get to where I need to be?

Many of us experience these thoughts and feelings at some point in our lives and this can leave us feeling lost, anxious and alone. Feeling lost can be painful and confusing. Maybe you've experienced a physical loss through a recent bereavement or relationship break up. Perhaps you're experiencing a more conceptual loss of confidence, control and direction in life or perhaps you just cannot quite put your finger on it but you can't escape from the fact that you wake up feeling unfulfilled or go to bed wondering where your life's heading.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in which to talk freely and to be genuinely heard, to think and to feel, to explore and to discover. Whilst out in the world you may feel boxed in by the specific roles expected of you, in the counselling space you are just you and my role is to help you to use this time and freedom to explore, to seek your own answers and to help yourself to bring about the changes you would like to make. Ultimately, we are working together to help you to regain control and inner peace in your life.

I work using a Humanistic Integrative approach and am therefore able to use various styles of counselling according to what works most effectively for you in our sessions. My experience has included working with clients in a GP surgery and in the North London Hospice and within these contexts, I have worked with a variety of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, self-harm, abuse, stress, prolonged illness, relationship difficulties and anger issues.

I currently have my own private practice and work in Oakwood N14 and Barnet EN4.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling (a BACP accredited qualification) from CPPD Counselling School. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and practice in accordance with their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
