Dr Hatel Bhatt
Hello, my name is Hatel Bhatt and I am an experienced Psychologist working in London areas- Hackney and Angel. I have specialist experience in providing therapy for children, adolescents and families. I also have extensive experience working with adults as well.
I offer a friendly approach to therapy, and my main aim is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about how you/your child may be feeling. I am passionate in believing that therapy should be flexible, collaborative and tailored to meet yours and or your child’s needs.
Overall process of therapy:
In order for you to feel confident that I can support you in therapy, I would like to speak with you first for a telephone consultation (this would be free). Together, we can discuss why you may be seeking therapy and for me to share more details about how I work, and can support you. Following this, you can decide if you would like to then commit to face to face therapy. We would begin with an assessment, thinking about the process of therapy and how we might together tackle some of the challenges and difficulties you or your child are facing. After 6 sessions, I like to hold a review and collaboratively we can assess how you/your child are finding therapy. We can together decide if you would like to continue for on-going therapy, after this.
Assessment and working with you to create change:
I understand there are many reasons that might be bringing you or your child to therapy. My assessment is comprehensive, which allows me to explore your reasons with you and then tailor my practice to suit your needs. I therefore, work in an integrative way drawing upon many therapies with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I believe therapy is important to allow self-discovery, gain insight in to why you/your child may be experiencing difficulties and to then develop strategies, to create change to help move forward in life.
